2017 Annual General Meeting
A reminder that the Volleyball Victoria Inc Annual General Meeting will be held 10:30am Sunday, 23 April at the State Volleyball Centre @ Dandenong Stadium, see link below for more information. Voting affiliates are requested to please confirm their attendance or provide advice of their proxy prior to the AGM.
Proxy forms for eligible Associations unable to attend are available from the Office, please contact Victoria Ellis, Member Services Coordinator, email@example.com or telephone 03 9794 0009.
The AGM will be followed by the annual Stakeholder Forum, the final Agenda with relevant is available via the link below. Critical items being brought forward by the Office include:
- CRM assessment project
VVI has been approached by Volleyball Australia to join in a national database provided by Fortix. The Fortix product is a more sophisticated customer relationship management solution that will not offer competition management or website platforms. At this time, up to five States have already committed or commenced using the solution.
VVI is keen to assess Fortix against the current SportsTG solution based on the ongoing needs of the Office and affiliates; this will be commenced via survey and then further consultation.
A separate survey link will be provided to each affiliate, please take the time to complete this simple, three question survey prior to the AGM weekend.
- Strategic Plan
The 2015-17 Strategic Plan has entered the final year for implementation and the Board is keen to understand the impact of this Plan and the relevance of extending beyond 2017. In particular, the Board is seeking to identify any areas that are obviously overlooked in the current Plan that need to be integrated into an extension.
Affiliates are encouraged to peruse the Strategic Plan, as per the link below, and provide commentary at the Forum
- State-wide facility plan See below
Nominations for Board positions, Volleyball Victoria Awards, and Stakeholder Forum Agenda items closed Sunday, 26 March.
State-wide facility plan
In late March, VVI received advice from The Hon John Eren, Minister for Sport, that we were successful in our submission for funding from Sport and Recreation Victoria to develop a State-wide facility plan.
Affiliates have been referred to an online facility survey to help provide a picture of the current and likely future need for access to court space; with confirmation of funding, completion of this survey becomes an imperative to provide VVI with the most accurate information in the development of a long-term facility strategy.
The State-wide facility plan will be a critical document; both a cornerstone of association profiles and provide the basis for talks with State Sport Associations Basketball and Netball Victoria in representing shared interests with local and State government facility development.
Member benefits – SportsPass
In late 2016, VVI conducted a trial of the SportsPass loyalty rewards program with the Indoor State Team. This trial led to the successful take-up and extensive use of the scheme, resulting in many of the visitors to the Gold Coast able to take advantage of numerous exclusive offers available to them.
As a result, VVI has determined to release the program as a free benefit to all members in 2017. Delivered primarily via a smart phone app, SportsPass member rewards provides members access to loads of in-store offers, exclusive discounts and competitions, cash back from over 1000 online retailers with SportsPass and discounted rates to over 2000 entertainment and attraction experiences.
In the coming weeks, VVI will be releasing a customised SportsPass website that will introduce and support navigation of the program including exclusive offers to our VVI members.
