Congratulations to both the Victorian Under 16 Boys and Girls Squad who won Silver at the School Sport Australian Volleyball Championships in Mandurah, Western Australia, from 19th to 25th August.

During the round robin both the boys and girls teams only lost two games which were against Queensland who were undefeated throughout the Championships.

Both teams played against Queensland in the Gold medal final with the girls losing 3-2 and 12-15 in the fifth set, which was a fantastic game. Although the boys worked incredibly hard they lost 3-0.

Overall it was an outstanding result for both teams and all the coaches and managers were very proud of the athletes’ achievements and the way they conducted themselves throughout the Championships.

Team Vic also had 7 athletes named in the All Australian Team

Under 16 Boys: Damien Bahr, Edwin DeWaard, Alex Rahmani & Lewis Roberts.

Under 16 Girls: Alissa Kinkela, Emily Reynolds & Chelsea Wilson.

Congratulations to all the coaches and managers – Tour Manager: Stuart Adderley, Girls Head Coach: Scott Ross, Girls Manager: Penelope Cleghorn, Boys Head Coach: Todd Broadbent, Boys Manager: Gel Klein-Boonschate and Boys Assistant Coach: Mark Jensen.

Overall outstanding results again for the Under 16 Victorian Volleyball Boys and Girls Team.
