Volleyball Victoria Coaches Commission

Volleyball Victoria has been working towards re-establishing the coaches commission. It is with great excitement to announce that this has become a reality. The Coaches Commission will be working closely with Volleyball Victoria in different scenarios from Education, Pathways, Events and initiatives that can benefit the volleyball community.

The Commission is made up of representatives from both Metropolitan and Regional areas with vast amount of experiences, ranging from National Tours, State League, Academies, Schools and Social Competitions.

The 2018 Volleyball Victoria Coaches Commission has seven representatives:

Nic Kaiser - Chair
Currently the Men's Program Coach for Yarra Ranges Volleyball Club and Head Coach of Warrnambool Volleyball Association's men team. Nic is a former member of Volleyball Australia's Coaches Commission (2007-2012) and Para Volley commission (2007-2012) and is also an accredited coaching course presenter who has a strong interest in coach education. 

Paul Freckleton - Regional West Representative
Current coach of Phantom Reserve Men and is a current Volleyball Victoria Board member, with an interest in increasing participation through more coaches with knowledge on the ground.

Josh Cowan - Regional East Representative
Current coach of Mazenod Open Boys team and involved in the State Team program. Josh will be liaising with our East regional affiliates and has a strong interest developing pathways for coaches.

Tamsin Hinchley - Commission Member
Tamsin is involved in the GMVA as a Beach head coach and works with Melbourne Beach Volleyball Association, Tamsin is a 3x Olympian for beach volleyball and is interested in having the ability to get volleyball to the forefront of people’s minds, as well as produce passionate coaches.

Luke Campbell - Commission Member
Luke is the founder of GMVA and is the current Indoor State Program Coach. Luke is an Olympian with a wealth of experience coaching various academies, schools and clubs and has an interest in developing more coaches and mentors for coaches.
Commission member Nic Arena – Nic is the current beach State Team Program Coach and a beach coach with GMVA. Nic is a passionate beach volleyball coach and is interested in working towards identifying coach support and raising the knowledge base of coaches.

Sue Rice - Commission Member
Sue is the current coach for Eastside Hawks Premier Women, Sue has played for Australia and been involved in collegiate volleyball in America. Sue is interested building the knowledge of the coaching community and building a mentor system for young coaches.

Volleyball Victoria is excited at the support the Coaches Commission will have on our coaches and the community in 2018 and beyond.
