2018 Women in Sport Breakfast

October 16, 2018, 01:36 PM AEST

On Thursday 11 October, Volleyball Victoria representatives attended the fifth annual Women in Sport Breakfast at the RACV City Club, with over 400 people in attendance.

Along with some fantastic food and an incredible view over the Melbourne CBD, guests were treated to a key note address from Sport Australia CEO Kate Palmer. Kate gave a wonderful speech about the culture of sport in Australia and the importance of equal representation in the community.

Both the Minister for Sport Hon. John Eren and Shadow Minister for Sport Danny O’Brien attended the event. John Eren emphasised the commitment of the Victorian Government to continue to invest in infrastructure that will increase female participation in sport. Danny O’Brien echoed these sentiments saying that “the huge growth in sport participation is largely driven by women and girls”.

Congratulations to David Berry who was a recipient of the Inaugural Women in Sport Recognition Awards for his outstanding contribution to increasing female participation in sport.
