Volleyball Victoria have returned home from the AJBVC held in Bunbury, WA with one Gold Medal, two Silvers and a Bronze.

Victoria was well-represented with 53 athletes across 9 divisions hitting the sand for the four-day competition.  The journey began with a shaky start with a 5 hour flight delay faltering all plans to get to the Opening Ceremony on time.  Eventually making it into Bunbury at 6:30pm local time, the athletes and coaches alike still had high spirits with a long week ahead beginning at 7am the following morning.

Blake Kuipers and Mitchell McCombe (U19M) completed their final year of eligibility going out as Gold Medal winners against Queensland’s Morrow/Tabuarua.  Victoria’s first Gold Medal at AJBVC since 2017 (Van Rensburg/Ingram U19W).  This was supported with a Bronze medal to teammates Kyle Van Rensburg and Alexander Bye.

Lauren Taylor and Nicola Gregory (U19W) fought valiantly against WA’s Sanchez/Serra however it wasn’t to be with the Victorians taking home the Silver Medal.

In the U16 Boys, Oliver Diano and Jason Fernandes won a Silver Medal against QLD’s Drake/McEvoy.

Victoria finished third in the Andy Burdin Shield behind Western Australia and Queensland.
